How many words am I supposed to cram in this little box in an attempt to let those souls who wander by my profile get an idea of who I am??

I am a happily single mother of an adult son and the grandmother to a gorgeous new baby boy. I spend much of my free time molding and shaping the minds of youth.... I have herds of children that have claimed me as "theirs", I volunteer through the local schools, the 4-H program, and at a shelter for homeless teens.

I am opinionated, cocky, brilliant, stubborn, passionate, loving and adventerous. I am equally comfy kicking around the house in my jammy pants and sports bra, playing XBox with the kids, dressed to kill at an overpriced fundraising dinner and auction, or sporting my apple-bottom jeans at the bar proving that yes, an almost 40 year old woman can still get out on the floor, move her butt, and look damn good doing so.

Though I'm not a music whore I do listen to whatever happens to strike a chord within me. My CD collection contains almost every genre of music out there, from classical to death metal, jazz to native drumming, and everything in between.

I read almost anything I can get my hands on, except for harlequin type romances. A few of my preferred authors include: Tom Clancy, Poe, Janet Evanovich, Mark Twain, Homer, Anne Rice

Almost anything by Tarantino, Kubrick, Scorsese or Waters...

Any of the Law and Orders, Dirty Jobs, MythBusters, SpongeBob, CSI, LockUp, Family Guy

The desert outside of Tombstone, AZ; the Oregon/Washington coast; Santa Cruz, CA; my bed!!

Collecting century + old dictionaries, skateboarding, snowboarding, reading, volunteering, people watching
Wish List:

This is a hard one.... I always wish for my extra kids and the street babies I volunteer with to find some solidity and stability in life. I wish I had more ME time. I wish my best friend would find the peace he needs in his life. I wish that I always realized whatever challenges I may face will just make me stronger and bring out the best in me.

Thanks so much BB Jean, for visiting and commenting on my Pride article, there were 2 others before this I hope you were able to catch as well, part 2 of this yet likely tonight in the wee hours or tomorrow, and I have still to put together two more of events at the festival, thusly leaving only the parade, which I am afraid will take two articles in itself it was a fantastic one!!
